Fingerprinting

   I provide Mobile Ink Fingerprinting services, Live Scan, DOJ and/or FBI background checks for individual or large groups. I can also provide services in my office by appointment.

   Fingerprint background checks have traditionally been performed by public agencies or companies doing business in the public sector, but private business are currently relying more and more on fingerprints as a pre-employment requirement. Employees for most public agencies, like school districts and law enforcement agencies are mandated by California law and/or federal law to undergo a fingerprint background check.

   If you submit your fingerprints for a background check, your fingerprints will be compared to a national law enforcement fingerprint database containing millions of fingerprints taken from criminals and workers over the years.

   California fingerprinting for background checks is operated by the California Department of Justice. California has a system for digital fingerprinting, called Live Scan. Live Scan is an automated system used to conduct criminal background checks for the purposes of employment, licenses, adopting and visas/immigration. The information that can be collected, including consumer and criminal reports, is regulated by California background check laws and overriding federal laws.

   Some employers or agencies require ink fingerprint cards instead of using the state’s Live Scan system. Fingerprints which are obtained on ink cards are also compared to a national law enforcement fingerprint database.
